Sapanca is about 130 to 150 km from the Asian side of Istanbul. Most of the way is motorway, so on a weekday afternoon it is an easy drive. Friday evenings and Sunday returns are another story. Below are the three ways our guests use most.

By car

There are two main options. You can take the Anatolian Motorway (TEM) and leave at the Sapanca exit. The Northern Marmara Motorway avoids city traffic, which helps if you are coming from the European side or from Istanbul Airport. Both roads are tolled, and you need an HGS or OGS tag to pass. Rental cars usually have one, but ask when you collect the car.

Without traffic, the drive from Kadıköy or Ataşehir takes about an hour and a half. Leave on a Friday between 4 pm and 8 pm and it can take twice as long. If you can, set off on Friday morning or early on Saturday.

The hotel is about 9 km from Sapanca centre. Type "Feel & Live Hotel Sapanca" into your navigation app. You can ask us about parking on WhatsApp before you arrive.

By high-speed train (YHT)

Most high-speed trains between Istanbul and Ankara stop at Sapanca. In Istanbul you can board at stations such as Halkalı, Bakırköy, Söğütlüçeşme and Pendik. From Pendik to Sapanca the trip takes one to one and a half hours depending on the service.

Not every train stops at Sapanca. When you buy a ticket, choose Sapanca as the destination and look at the services the system shows. Tickets for weekends and the days before public holidays sell out early.

A new high-speed station and line changes are planned for the area. According to the published timetable, part of this work will continue until 2028. Check station and service details again just before you travel.

By Ada Express

The Ada Express is a regional train between Pendik and Adapazarı. It stops at Sapanca and is slower than the high-speed train, but cheaper. When we wrote this there were five departures a day in each direction. The number of services and their times can change, so check the TCDD Taşımacılık ticket site for current times.

From the station to the hotel

A taxi from Sapanca station to the hotel takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Late at night, finding a taxi at the station can be harder. Send us your arrival time on WhatsApp and we will help you arrange one.

Once you arrive, our guide to things to do in Sapanca will help you plan the first day.
